  111. # [15:14] <~davidb> marcoz: i think bsmedberg will (has?) ping you about testing a plugin patch
  112. # [15:15] <maxli> marcoz: since it's the generated file is the one that's causing compiler problems, I don't think there's any nicer solution than removing the generation and just keeping the (fixed) generated file in the tree
  113. # [15:15] <maxli> (assuming kats' theory of what's causing the problem is correct)
  114. # [15:18] <@marcoz> maxli: OK… And there is no way to fix the file this file is being generated from instead? We could maybe even upstream this back to the BrailleBack project...
  115. # [15:18] <@marcoz> davidb: Haven't seen anything yet. Do you know which bug number?
  116. # [15:18] <~davidb> marcoz: unfortunately i don't recall but i emailed benjamin to say you were back

  129. # [15:22] <@marcoz> davidb: A team meeting! Oh wow! if Surkov is in the office next Wednesday, we could actually try that! :D
  130. # [15:23] <~davidb> hehe
  131. # [15:23] <~davidb> well we have met without him and survived
  132. # [15:26] <maxli> marcoz: hmm, now i'm actually a tad confused, since my generated file doesn't actually have the problem in bug 885298
  133. # [15:26] <@firebot> Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=885298 nor, --, ---, nobody, NEW, warning: [cast] redundant cast to android.os.IInterface android.os.IInterface iin = (android.os.IInt
  134. # [15:27] <@marcoz> maxli: As kats pointed out, may be a different in Java compiler versions.
  135. # [15:27] <@marcoz> My build also doesn't fail.
  136. # [15:28] <~davidb> yuck
  137. # [15:30] <maxli> marcoz: what I meant there was that my sdk generates code without the redundant cast, so even with the java 7 compiler it builds fine; so the problems seems to be both a combination of java compiler version and sdk version
  138. # [15:31] <@marcoz> maxli: And if you need help, you can find kats in #mobile. I found him to be quite willing to help. Perhaps he can provide pointers if you don't find anything.
  139. # [15:32] <@marcoz> maxli: Wow interesting! Which SDK version do you build against?

  147. # [15:36] <yzen> marcoz: that's great :), eeejay gave me some nice pointers yesterday too
  148. # [15:40] <maxli> marcoz: my sdk version is 21
  149. # [15:40] <@marcoz> yzen: Nice technique to cache the table cell accessibles and avoid redundant calls to QueryInterface on that same accessible! Good when braille also asks for the information. :)
  150. # [15:41] <yzen> marcoz: yep i read your older comments about that , so tried to address that the best i could
  151. # [15:41] <@marcoz> maxli: Wow, is that the official one? I'm still on 16. (or is that the SDK level, I keep them mixed up).
  152. # [15:41] <@marcoz> yzen: Definitely looks like you're on the right track here!
  153. # [15:42] <yzen> :)
  154. # [15:42] <maxli> marcoz: There's a 22 which was recently released (am downloading now to see if that's the problem)
  155. # [15:42] <@marcoz> maxli: OK!
  156. # [15:45] <@marcoz> davidb: yzen: eeejay: BTW I sold my Nexus 4 again. Instead, I bought us a second HTC One, and am now using one of them with TrickDroid, which is a tweaked HTC firmware, plus the Nexus Android keyboard which is fully accessible, and officially not installable on the HTC. Much better hardware, much better sound from that device. Happy me! Oh and TalkBack 3.4.0Beta fixes one of the gripes I had with it! :)
  157. # [15:45] <yzen> marcoz: that phone looks nice, but you can't beat the price on nexus 4 :)
  158. # [15:48] <@marcoz> yzen: That's certainly true! However, the glass backside makes it a very slippery device, and the speaker, esp if you put the phone on a table, is not very well put.
  159. # [15:49] <@marcoz> yzen: Like if you just quickly want to check something, you *have* to pick up the phone as a TalkBack user, because if the phone sits on a flat surface, the speaker is totally covered and the speech becomes unintelligible.

  164. # [15:54] <~davidb> tbsaunde: good to hear
  165. # [16:00] <@marcoz> davidb: It is! It's a unibody aluminium casing. From the touch and feel, it comes close to the quality hardware Apple are known to produce. In my opinion, it's the best Android device out there currently.
  166. # [16:00] <~davidb> marcoz: what about tech specs?

  248. # [20:39] <yzen> eeejay: so you think TableCell is overcomplicating things ? btw I added some response comments..
  249. # [20:39] <@eeejay> yzen, yeah, i think so..
  250. # [20:40] <yzen> eeejay: ok ill keep it simple :)
  251. # [20:40] <@eeejay> yzen, i could see PivotContext have a function like getCellInfo, that would return a key/val of everything you need
  252. # [20:40] <@eeejay> yzen, it could then be cached, to that cell.
  253. # [20:42] <yzen> eeejay: cached internally to PivotContext?
  254. # [20:42] <yzen> eeejay: as some sort of weak map ?
  255. # [20:42] <@eeejay> yzen, yeah. it doesn't even need to be weak, because the pivotcontext lifecycle is short.
  256. # [20:43] <yzen> eeejay: makes sense, thanks !
