- # [01:02] <estellevw> Animation-timing-function implementation question
- # [01:02] <estellevw> When including ATF in a keyframe, it only changes the timing if other properties are included in that keyfraem
- # [01:02] <estellevw> for example,
- # [01:03] <estellevw> @keyframes width {
- # [01:03] <estellevw> 0% {
- # [01:03] <estellevw> width: 500px;
- # [01:03] <estellevw> }
- # [01:03] <estellevw> 50% {
- # [01:03] <estellevw> animation-timing-function: ease-in;
- # [01:03] <estellevw> width: 300px;
- # [01:03] <estellevw> }
- # [01:03] <estellevw> 100% {
- # [01:03] <estellevw> width: 100px;
- # [01:03] <estellevw> }
- # [01:03] <estellevw> }
- # [01:03] <estellevw> That will change hte animation timing function. But if I don’t include the width: 300ox; the timing function does not cahgnes at the 50% mark.
- # [01:03] <estellevw> this is how it’s implemented in FF and Chrome/Opera
- # [01:04] <estellevw> is that a feature or a bug?
- # [01:06] <liam> don't know but if you say you're animating width it seems reasonable to include it in the keyframes
- # [01:06] <liam> although i can see your use case. that's better asked on the mailing listi think
- # [01:43] * Joins: jdaggett (~jdaggett@public.cloak)
- # [01:52] <estellevw> that was just an example. The general idea is, when i add ATF to a keyframe, it has no impact, unless there is also an animable property set in that keyfreme. I would think you can change ATF on a keyframe and it will change the timing function for all the animatable proerties, but it really only changes it for the properties that are set within that same keyframe only
- # [02:19] * Joins: skoji (~skoji@public.cloak)
- # [02:19] * Quits: skoji (~skoji@public.cloak) ("Leaving...")
- # [02:59] <liam> estellevw, yeah, understood - agan, send mail, because i think the use case of changing the animation timing function is important enough to be explicitly allowed in the spec, i think you have a good example, but others should discuss it
