The problem I face, is that if viewed in a browser that doesn't antialias pixels when scaling the terrain will be blocky. :-(

  106. # [02:03] <andrewjbaker> Cool that's really good to know.
  107. # [02:03] <ippa> how many drawoperations per gametick is that?
  108. # [02:04] <andrewjbaker> It's render-on-demand at the moment; entirely event driven.
  109. # [02:04] <andrewjbaker> I had it running w/ a conventional game loop before and it hovered around the 15fps mark.
  110. # [02:04] <andrewjbaker> But that was w/o hardware acceleration.
  111. # [02:05] <andrewjbaker> Problem was, it was waaaaaaay too CPU intensive.
  112. # [02:05] <andrewjbaker> It's... let me think...
  113. # [02:06] <andrewjbaker> 12,000 fillRect()'s. Plus, maybe, 3 or 4 drawImage()'s.
  114. # [02:07] <andrewjbaker> Nice thing w/ drawImage() is that you get antialiasing for free by offsetting your coords by 0.5.
  115. # [02:08] <andrewjbaker> Works the opposite way round to SVG for some reason.
  116. # [02:08] <ippa> andrewjbaker: hehe.. I'm trying to avoid that, usually going for the retrolook ;)
