  11. # [23:38] <moo-_-> uf0_work: you know, you can run a web server on your desktop computer :)
  12. # [23:38] * Joins: dsyme (~Cartalyst@68-185-53-78.static.knwc.wa.charter.com)
  13. # [23:40] <uf0_work> moo-_-: don't you upload your files first
  14. # [23:41] <uf0_work> then commit
  15. # [23:41] <uf0_work> then svn up ?
  16. # [23:41] <uf0_work> as in... edit, upload, commit, svn up to prod
  17. # [23:42] * Quits: barneybook_work (~Thunderbi@36-229-195-82.dynamic-ip.hinet.net) (Ping timeout: 255 seconds)
  18. # [23:42] * abstractj is now known as abstractj|away
  19. # [23:43] <Garbee> commit is sending to production.
  20. # [23:43] * Quits: blackjid (~jidonoso@pc-200-110-47-190.cm.vtr.net) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
  21. # [23:43] * Joins: blinkerror (~Thunderbi@121.54.34.3)
  22. # [23:43] <uf0_work> commit when using git that is..
  23. # [23:43] <Garbee> Edit then commit. That is all.
  24. # [23:43] <uf0_work> but when using svn.. it's
  25. # [23:43] <uf0_work> commit and then svn up
  26. # [23:43] <Garbee> no, git you commit then push.
  27. # [23:43] * Joins: barneybook_work (~Thunderbi@118-168-227-184.dynamic.hinet.net)
  28. # [23:43] <Garbee> Either way, it is just that. Edit then send to server via version control.
  29. # [23:43] <uf0_work> ok so then you still have to do 'something'
  30. # [23:43] <uf0_work> push or 'svn up'
  31. # [23:43] <uf0_work> it's not just commit
  32. # [23:44] <uf0_work> it's like you said.
  33. # [23:44] <uf0_work> commit.. then push
  34. # [23:44] <Garbee> commit implies a push.
  35. # [23:44] <uf0_work> ah
  36. # [23:46] * Quits: voti (~voti@201-0-114-46.dsl.telesp.net.br)
  37. # [23:47] <David_Bradbury> Sorry, was afk for a second. I don't use Linux because the Linux alternatives I use for some of my most frequently used programs aren't good enough.
  38. # [23:48] <uf0_work> ok
  39. # [23:48] * Joins: blackjid (~jidonoso@pc-200-110-47-190.cm.vtr.net)
  40. # [23:50] <David_Bradbury> Most media editing programs (Photoshop, After Effects, etc) just aren't as good or don't have features I require. I haven't found a suitable music sequencer such as FL Studio or Reason. Also, gaming. Wine doesn't work well enough for those purposes. Otherwise, it would be great :)
  41. # [23:52] <uf0_work> haha
  42. # [23:55] * Quits: Jayflux (~jay_knows@cpc6-dudl6-0-0-cust126.16-1.cable.virginmedia.com) (Quit: ( www.nnscript.com :: NoNameScript 4.22 :: www.esnation.com ))
  43. # [23:55] <dahlfors> indeed. there isn't really any alternative to adobe's suite
  44. # [23:55] <dahlfors> hence, win 7 / os x are my only desktop os:es that I use
  45. # [23:55] <dahlfors> linux/bsd for servers only
  46. # [23:56] <uf0_work> yup
  47. # [23:56] <David_Bradbury> If Adobe and Steam made a push to support Linux better, I'd be great. (And I know Steam is working on it)
  48. # [23:56] <dahlfors> a lot is going to change if adobe will do such a push
  49. # [23:59] <dpogue> Adobe seems to be removing suppot for Linux these days :\
  50. # [23:59] <dpogue> no Flash, no Reader, no AIR runtime (although the SDK works in Linux)
  51. # Session Close: Tue Oct 09 00:00:40 2012

The end :)
