The power of http-equiv

The Content-Type of this document is set to utf-8 with an HTTP header.

Some characters: ü, é, ï, ©, €

Now what does <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1"> do?

Hmm, nothing :-) (Opera, Firefox, IE6). The HTTP header appears to overrule the http-equiv, which is kinda logical.
